WAVEMACHINE Notes

We build products that people love,
and the machine that builds them.

Notes

Working thoughts, kept in the open.

Intelligence is becoming infrastructure

In every buildout, electricity, rail, the network, wealth pooled less with whoever generated the resource than with whoever reorganised work around it. Electricity took decades to show up in productivity, until factories were rebuilt around it rather than retrofitted. Cognition is next. The question is no longer who has it, but who redesigns around it.

Reliability is bounded by verifiability

A system can recover from any mistake it can see. Code that fails to compile announces itself; a payment, once sent, does not. Where work can be checked, autonomy scales almost without limit. Where it cannot, judgment stays, and that boundary, not raw capability, decides what machines will be trusted to do.

The goalposts move

Arithmetic became trivial and mathematics did not end. Cheap intelligence does not exhaust the work worth doing; it makes larger work attemptable. The supply of problems has always outrun the means to solve them. It still does.
